Paul Gleason, a life-long resident of Lincoln and Logan County, has received degrees from Lincoln College and the University of Illinois. In 1997, he completed a 37-year career as a professor of American history and government. He serves on the boards of several area historical societies and is currently the assistant curator of the Lincoln College Museum. He has authored five books on the history of Lincoln and Logan County.

Paul Beaver, born and raised in Logan County, has received degrees from Lincoln College and Illinois State University. His masters thesis (on early business in Logan County) was later developed into a book. In 1966 he became a history professor at Lincoln College where he currently continues to teach. He has been a guest speaker for several lecture series on Abraham Lincoln.
